The Instructor

Picture
Larry Boyle is an accomplished and recognized musician in the Boston area and has spent the greater part of his life studying and teaching piano. Beginning his studies at the age of eight, his training began with the well known area instructor Frank Ward, whom he continued with throughout his childhood years. Mr. Boyle went on to receive his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from the University of Lowell where he studied privately for several years with the legendary Boston area teacher Madame Chaloff, known for a method of piano technique that had been passed down through generations of pianists as well as for her  illustrious students, including Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, George Shearing, Kenny Werner, Steve Kuhn, and many others.

Mr. Boyle's post graduate studies continued with other area teachers such as Berklee College instructor Jeff Covell, and another Boston legend, Charlie Banacos, who became a long time influence and mentor.

Mr. Boyle has performed in bands, orchestras and ensembles throughout his entire life. In his earliest days he was a consistent member and keyboard player in many well known rock bands, an experience that influenced his desire to pursue music as a full time profession. In the years since, he has played keyboards and piano professionally with hundreds of area musicians and in countless venues up and down the east coast. Mr. Boyle continues to play professionally with his many colleagues and fellow musical associates while continuing his specialty as a solo artist.

However, it is his love of teaching that has been the mainstay of his professional career and he has passed down his passion and rich heritage for music and the piano to generations of students who have come to study with him over many years.
